Kerstin Krömer, Asset Manager of the German water utility “Oldenburg-Ostfriesischer Wasserverband (OOWV)” presented projects and experiences of the OOWV for municipal wastewater treatment at the 2nd YOUtility Lunch of the utility platform on 22nd of September.

She presented to the 23 participants from German and international water utilities how OOWV treats municipal wastewater in pilot projects for different industries, such as for the chemical industry or for a paper and cardboard factory. After successful pilot phases, longer-term cooperations are to be established here.

Industry-specific water treatment can permanently save valuable drinking water, which is becoming increasingly scarce in Germany due to the effects of climate change.

The virtual lunch format “YOUtility Lunch” of the utility platform offers insights into different topics.
