Urban Lab 4: International operator partnerships in the water sector

Initiating New International Operator Partnerships of Municipal Water Suppliers! An event in the framework of the URBAN THINKERS CAMPUS MANNHEIM

What relevance do international operator partnerships in the water sector have for German operators? And how willing are German operators to get involved in this area? At this event, we would like to discuss with you the participation of municipal operators in international water cooperations.
Partnerships between German water and wastewater operators with operators from the global South are intensively discussed and promoted at both the national and international political levels. The aim of the partnership is to develop the competence of specialists and managers in the partner countries in order to increase the performance of operators for sustainable water supply and wastewater disposal.
This new opportunity for international cooperation is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented as a cooperation project of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Engagement Global (EG) with its Service Agency Communities in One World (SKEW), (for more information click here: www.utilityplatform.connective-cities.net).
In order to adapt and further develop the current BMZ support program for water partnerships to the situation of municipalities and their operations, we would like to exchange ideas with you.

Conference language is German.
