On 25-26 May 2023, the 6th Networking Event of the UtilityPlatform took place in Berlin. More than 70 participants, representing nine water operator partnerships WOPs from Jordan, SouthAfrica, Zambia, Tanzania, Ukraine and Germany, came together to connect with each other, share knowledge and experience, and explore new development opportunities for their utilities. Over the course of three days, lively discussions were conducted on various technical and management-related topics, including non-revenue water, capacity development, and awareness campaigns in WOPs. A special session was dedicated to the new Urban Water Catalyst Initiative, which promises a paradigm shift in water sector financing. The event also featured three field visits to the water treatment facilities of Berliner Wasserbetriebe and MEWA, as well as a sightseeing excursion.
